“We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. (Romans 6:9-11)

He is risen!

He is risen, indeed!  Alleluia!

Oh how we love to say those words.  We say those words because we know that the tomb was empty that Easter morning.  Jesus rose from the dead alive…never to die again!  Think how profound that is.

Sure we have an idea of what that might be like today.  Through modern medicine, we can bring people back from the dead when they have had a heart attack and their heart stopped.  But those who are brought back alive, they will eventually die…again.

But not so with Jesus!

It goes back to the reason why He died in the first place.  As Paul says, “…He died to sin, once for all,” your sin, my sin, the life He lives now, He lives to God.  Plus, he says that we should consider ourselves alive to God in Christ Jesus.  Paul tells us that, because we who believe in Jesus as our Savior, have a living hope.  That one day we will die, but also one day, we will, like Jesus, rise from the dead, never to die again!  We will spend our eternal days with Jesus in heaven!  That is promise to believers.

The cool thing now, is because of the faith you have, you are alive to God now!  The promise, the hope is yours now!

All because…

He is risen!

He is risen, indeed!

A blessed Easter to you, from Pastor Hopkins
