Deacons, Readers, Servers, Acolytes, and Ushers

rinity Lutheran Church has a variety of active volunteer ministries for those who wish to serve the Lord and the congregation during worship. Deacons assist the pastor during worship with serving Holy Communion and with prayer. Outside of worship, our Lay Deacons may engage in various types of service, including but not limited to teaching within the congregation; catechesis of youth and adults; care giving works of mercy like shut-in and hospital visitation, hospitality and integration of members, small group Bible study leadership, and various outreach and evangelism. Our Lay Deacons have completed an approved two-year course of theological education of the Atlantic District Lay Diaconate Program. If you would like more information about becoming a Deacon, please speak with our pastor.

Readers, Servers and Acolytes participate in worship services each week by reading scripture, assisting with Holy Communion and lighting candles. Most of our volunteers are scheduled to take part of worship about once a month, although there are exceptions. Our ushers have the important role of assisting worshippers by greeting people as they arrive, handing out bulletins, directing communicants during Holy Communion and collecting the offering. If you wish to volunteer for any of these areas of service, please call the church office.

Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
