Ministries, Programs and Missions Supported by Trinity Lutheran Church
Stephen Ministry - Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. If you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister or are in need or know someone in need of a Stephen Minister, please call the Church office and speak to Kathy Funfgeld, Doris Gargan, or Pastor Wayne Puls.
Sunshine Circle - Trinity Lutheran Women's Group members who visit shut-ins on a monthly basis.
Prayerline - A group of dedicated people who pray for those in special need. To add someone to the Prayerline, call the church office.
Caring and Sharing Bible Study - Informal, small group Bible study. Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM
Closer Connections -Held three times a year, covering the basics of the Lutheran faith. Designed for seekers, new members, and as a brush-up for long-time members.
Pastor's Forum - A look at current issues from a biblical perspective. Check bulletin and newsletter for dates and times.
Ladies Wednesday AM and PM Bible Study - Separate classes held weekly at 9:30 AM and 7:30 PM (Babysitting is provided for pre-school age children at 9:30 AM).
Men's Fellowship - A gathering on the second and fourth Sundays at 8:00 AM for Bible study, light breakfast, prayer and fellowship.
Acolytes - Young people who have completed the sixth grade and assist in worship.
Altar Guild - A group of Trinity women who prepare God's house for worship.
Communion Servers - Assist with the distribution of Holy Communion.
Ushers - Direct and assist worshippers during worship.
Greeters - Welcome people to worship.
Lay Readers - Members who read the Scripture lessons during worship.
Assisting Ministers - Lay people assisting the clergy.
Forever 55 - For members and friends fifty-five years old and over. Monthly planning meetings, in-house and outside meetings are generally held on Tuesdays.
Bands of Gold - For couples who enjoy fellowship and growing experiences as a group. Meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month, October-June, 8-9:30 PM. A retreat is held once a year.
Atlantic District LC-MS - The Trinity Voters Assembly allocates funds each year through the budget to support the ministry of the district in support of local congregations and mission efforts.
Camp Sonrise - The Trinity Voters Assembly allocates funds each year through the budget so that the Gospel-centered recreation, education, and camping ministry may continue and grow.
Concordia College, Bronxville - The Trinity Voters Assembly allocates funds each year through the budget so that the Gospel-centered education at our Lutheran college may continue and grow.
Compassion International Sponsor Child - Trinity Youth Groups sponsor Rose Mirlande Joseph. Coffee Hour proceeds help fund educational, spiritual, and physical opportunities for this needy child.
Ecumenical Consultation Center - The Trinity Voters Assembly allocates funds each year through the budget to this ecumenical Christian counseling center. Our gifts make the counseling affordable, and enables the center to grow.
The Lutheran Womens Missionary League - This group of Trinity women supports mission work through prayer, fellowship, educational opportunities and financial projects for such organizations as the Church of All Nations, The Christian Appalachian Project, and Children's Bible Fellowship of N.Y.
The Rev. John Mehl - Our LC-MS missionary in Russia is helping the indigenous Lutheran Church to grow and is training local people to minister the Gospel of Christ.
Military Mail - A project of 5th - 7th Grade Computer Classes. Letters and cards are sent to service persons for the holidays.
Nassau Lutheran Church in the Bahamas - Trinity members and friends support this mission church as it seeks to share Christ and create a Lutheran presence in Bahaman Islands.
School/Vacation Bible School Chapel Offerings - Each year students bring in offerings to support several mission projects. Previous projects have included Wheat Ridge, Bethesda, Oakgrove High School Disaster Relief, Ronald McDonald Houses, and the Bible League.
Seminary Fund - The Trinity Voters Assembly allocates funds each year through the budget to support seminary education so that pastors car be trained for Word and Sacrament ministry.
United Lutheran Appeal - The Trinity Voters Assembly allocates funds each year through the budget. ULA is an organization that secures funding and support for various Lutheran mission and service organizations.
Caring Resource Library - Sponsored by the Board of Christian Outreach, this is held on the first and third Sunday of each month. Books, videos, tapes and CDs can be borrowed free of charge for a two-week period, and may be returned to the church office at our convenient drop box.
